Research overview

My research is focused on developing mathematical and computational models to study evolution. I work primarily on the evolution of social behaviour and culture. Much of my recent work has focused on how the cultural evolution of human behavior is shaped by information ecosystems, including the effects of misinformation, polarization and echochambers. I am also interested in the evolution of cooperation and social behaviour more broadly, in particular the role of population structure and genetic architecture in shaping the evolution of social interactions. The tools I use are mostly drawn from game theory and mathematical population genetics. My personal website can be found here: http://alexanderjstewart.org
