Evidence for sperm transfer during sneaky mating in wild Trinidadian guppies

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Among Trinidadian guppies Poecilia reticulata, 15% of non-receptive females had recoverable sperm that must have come from successful sneaky matings. These results provide the first evidence that sneaky mating is a successful method of sperm transfer in wild populations of the guppy. (C) 2000 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
